Lazy Days

So its 2 weeks into summer vacation and I am still enjoying it. So far kids are not fighting with each other, we have had many sleepovers, some nights I have a total of six kids in the house. We are just spending our time having fun, and no schedule. We have been swimming everyday as1019.gif

We also go to our local library every week for their Summer Reading Program. It is amazing how little trinkets that they receive there for every hour of reading encourages them to read more. I too have been reading alot.

as3668tn.gif Here are some of the books I have been reading. They are all quick reads, which is what I need when I take them swimming.

As for knitting, I’m still working on the same 2 projects. I knit a few rows of each most days, but it is slow going. I am determined to finish them before I start anything else.

As I said it is lazy days, so not alot is getting done, but everyone is having fun. Have a great day.

You make summer sound like fun! Actually, I’m starting to really look forward to it. One 1/2 day left for us! Where did you find all the cute clip art????

Ours is still a week and a half away & the boys will only have a week off before they start theatre camp, I miss the lazy days when they were young.

    Hooray for swimming!

I usually sit in the shade and knit–but books are good too. Have you tried the Ladies #1 Detective Agency books? they are really charming and the language is very simple, but they are very intelligent.

I hate to say it….esp as a librarian….but I don’t read as much now that I knit all the time! Shame on me!!!

Great books that you’ve been reading – I’ve once read James Patterson and enjoyed it a lot!

Paula, I just discovered your blog!! I don’t know how I could have missed it!
I’ll have to check out the kids reading program since we are going there today.

I’m so excited to see all those cooking links in there!

(by the way, the mac and cheese recipe is from The Joy of Cooking (I think you have that one)…I just add a shot of hot sauce in there. Enjoy!

I know how it goes – I got SO LITTLE knitting and reading done on my vacation that it sort of surprises me.
