Back Home

We left this beautiful scenary and returned home yesterday. We had a great time at the cabin. It was 20 miles from Pagosa Springs in Colorado. Our only neighbors were horses, and deer running in the woods. So peaceful, and relaxing.

OK so there were a few mishaps, such as

#1 Daughter No 2 lost her baby tooth and in her excitement to show us she tripped and banged her head on a chair, now she has a goose egg on her forehead.

#2 Daughter No 1 while I was taking care of No 2, decided to go hiking up a hill with her brother (Daddy was watching!!!). Well she thought she saw a bear, and went running down the hill, but 1/3 way down she went airborne, landed on the ground and rolled the rest of the way down. Not one bruise, scratch or broken bones, just scared of bears,

#3 Grandma slipped and fell while hiking and has either sprained or broken her wrist, of course no hospital for 50-100miles, good job I’m a nurse. I’m bringing her to get xrays today.

#4 Sunday, the day we were meant to leave, we woke up to a flat tire. DH puts the spare on, and its flat too!!. So we had to get a tow truck to take the car to Pagosa Springs, but everything was closed. We did a temporary fix and got to stay an extra night at the cabin.

This is right outside the porch of the cabin. Anyway even with the mishaps we had a great time. No TV, VCR, electronic games, just the big outdoors for your play yard, animals, lots of reading, knitting, and board games, and yet I never once heard the kids say they were bored. Here they are exploring.

Of course my son won’t let you take a picture of his face. I’ll have pics tomorrow of the knitting I did tomorrow. Have a great day.

What beautiful pics! I met you at the 4 Hills pool and just put it together the other day when I was talking to Jamie! I knew your Shadow Shawl looked familiar

Whoa! we had the opposite problem last year. We were at a friend’s birthday party in Ireland last year (my spouse is irish) and the girlpants fell off the bouncy castle and broke her arm. We had a scary trip to the emergency room, thank goodness my MIL went with me. Xrays and a temporary splint, some paracetamol and we were sent home. We were flying back the next day….the hospital was as pleasant as could be expected, but hurt kids are never good for mom’s psyche.

And you know, we never got a bill. MIL said that they would not bother but I could hardly believe it. She was right.
