Today is the last day of school, can you believe it!! The year has flown by. S#2 finished yesterday, and now the girls today. My days to myself are over for 2 1/2 months, but that’s O.K.. In someways Summer vacation is relaxing, as there are no soccer practices or games to go to, no activities scheduled, we just relax, go swimming everyday, read, and plan the day in the moment.

A co worker gave me this book to read on Tuesday. My Sisters Keeper by Jodi Picoult. I could’nt put it down, it was great. I will warn you that it is very emotional, and even the most hardened person will probably cry reading this. I believe it affected me more so as I have had a sick child who had open heart surgery at nine months, and even though the illness is completely different in the book, it brings back many memories and feelings. The ending is a complete surprise, I did’nt even expect it. I highly recommend this book, it will be interesting to see what others thought of it.

More baby showers, it seems everyone I know is pregnant. As long as its not me, that’s o.k. I just finished a baby blanket for one baby. I used the SusanB’s Easy Ripple Afghan, I did the baby version, and I added a border. This was such a quick crochet.
Wow, its been a week since I posted, I’ve been reading blogs but then I click the links you post and I find new blogs to read. Last week was Nurse’s Week, we do alot of celebrations and recognitions in work. On Friday we had Pride Day, it is a day our Hospital recognises Nurses. A few months ago I wrote an essay “My Most Valuable Lesson”. They had asked us to send in essays in work, about someone who had mentored us, a lesson we learned, etc. So I sent in mine and completely forgot about it. Well on Friday they read my essay at the Pride Day, I had won first place. I won $500 and this beautiful hand made jewellery.
Now to Mothers Day, I had a great day. I did nothing!!!!! No cleaning, no laundry, no cooking, no kids activities to run too. I just sat out in the patio knitting and reading, it was wonderful. I collect teapots and look what Son #1 gave me
Is’nt it cute, I love the handmade things they make over any store bought item. I have a box of all the different things they have made me over the years. Hope everyone had a great Mothers Day.

I received my package from Scouts Indie Swag Club, the other day.
I love it. The picture does’nt do the wool justice, it is actually lavender and mint. Check out Scouts, it shows a much better picture of the colors.
The package also it includes all these samples from Heal My Hands, just what I need before I expose all those hidden areas this summer. And since I just had a birthday I need all the help I can get. By the way thankyou all for my birthday wishes.
